On April 13, 1988, in Nashville, Tennessee, 100 of Christian music's most popular recording artists and musicians volunteered their time and talents to create the "Carry The Light" recording and video.
These dedicated artists, with vision far beyond their individual ministries, came together for a single purpose: to encourage hundreds of people around the world to actively take part in helping to fulfill Jesus' last command to us: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every living creature."
"Carry The Light" has been selected as the official theme song for the Target 2000 Great Commission Torch Run. The torch run is sponsored by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, which represents missions organizations from around the world.
On Easter Sunday a torch was lit on the Mt. of Ascension in Israel and began its journey around the globe.
Young Christians from every nation are running with the torch in a practical demonstration of their commitment to "carry the light" of Jesus Christ to the whole world. Together we can take the message to every man, woman, and child in our generation.
The royalties from "Carry The Light" and all the other songs on this cassette have been waived to benefit world missions by the songwriters, recording artists, publishers and record companies. Their unity and generosity are a beautiful example for us all.
